Graphic design projects
Age at the end of the project: 21
I took graphic design courses during both my bachelor and my master at EPFL. They taught me to communicate an idea visually, and they are a nice balance to my engineering courses. Both bachelor semesters ended with a 6/6.
In my master, my group designed a poster and an A5 booklet around an interview of Roger Federer. Instead of drawing the visuals by hand, I wrote a Python program that draws tens of thousands of lines following a Perlin noise flow field, which gave the hair-like textures of the poster. The next semester, we made a 3D animation in Blender explaining the different tennis shots (flat, slice and topspin), recreated from real filmed shots. In my bachelor, my first graphic design project was a poster about lamps, made in Illustrator.
